Law and Order SVU Going Strong

Things are not looking so good at NBC right now. The good news is one TV show can be a silver lining. Law and Order SVU has been on the air for over a decade on NBC. It centers on the Special Victims Unit of the police department that deals with sexually oriented crimes. They are now in their 11th season and still going strong. With the strong lead characters played by Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay and a great team of writers, it appears nothing can stop them. A weekly drama running for this long is unheard of nowadays.

SVU is a spin-off from the original Law and Order franchise creator Dick Wolf. Another element that’s keeps this show interesting is the guest stars. And a lot big names have walked through those SVU doors over the years. Such names as Robin Williams, who was nominated for an Emmy on his performance. Others include Dean Cain, Luke Perry, Sara Gilbert, Julie Bowen, and Eric McCormack. I have been a fan of this show for a long time and despite the changes to the cast and moving it to a different night it still delivers.

It may not be the show that you talk about at the water cooler, but SVU to me is the hottest show on TV because it shows you a different side of what police officers do every day and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Even in 2010 every episode gets better and it always end’s with a twist. So if you are a fan of legal dramas and you want the best its never too late to get caught up in Law and Order SVU. All new episodes are on Wednesday’s at 9/8c now but will move to 10/9c after the Winter Olympics.
