The CW’s Ringer Review

The Fall Season is finally here. The CW kicks off with one of the most anticipated pilots called Ringer. Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar from Buffy fame, Nestor Carbonell from ABC’s Lost, Ioan Gruffudd from Fantastic 4, and Kristopher Polaha from CW’s Life Unexpected among others.

Gellar plays twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan. Bridget is a recovering alcoholic and ex-stripper who is a witness to a murder, and is scheduled to testify. In fear for her life she flees and meets up with her twin sister Siobhan whom she has not seen in six years. But before long Siobhan mysteriously disappears, so Bridget takes on the identity of her sister in order to survive. She discovers that she’s not the only one with secrets. Siobhan’s marriage to Andrew Martin played by Gruffudd is strained. Henry Butler played by Polaha, is having an affair with Siobhan. And, FBI Agent Victor Machado played by Carbonell is looking for Bridget.

I am not going to give away the ending to the pilot, but be ready for a major surprise. After a seven year absence from television, it’s great to see Gellar back. The premise of this show is very intriguing and the twists and turns are well executed. I truly believe The CW has another hit on their hands. I give Ringer four out of a possible four stars. And, I recommend this as must-see television. All-new episodes of Ringer air Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW. What do you think of Ringer? Is The CW the right network for this type of drama? Does it keep you on the edge of your seat? Send us an e-mail ryan@therpmshow.com
